(Reuters) – Alphabet-owned Google (NASDAQ) is laying off at least 100 employees from various teams in its cloud division, CNBC reported on Monday.
Roles in sales, operations and engineering, consultancy and ‘go to market’ strategy were among the jobs cut, the report said, citing internal correspondence.
“We continue to evolve our business to meet our customers’ priorities and the significant opportunities ahead,” a Google spokesperson told Reuters in an emailed statement.
“We remain committed to investing in areas critical to our business and ensuring our long-term success.”
The report comes after the California-based tech giant laid off an unspecified number of employees across several teams in April as it looks to reduce costs.
Google also laid off hundreds of employees in January following a slew of recent job losses in the technology and media industries as companies grapple with economic uncertainty.
