(Reuters) – More than 2.2 million homes and businesses in Texas are without power after Hurricane Beryl ripped through the region, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
Beryl weakened to a tropical depression late Monday and is expected to weaken further on Tuesday to become a post-tropical cyclone.
Based on the damage assessment and initial restoration efforts, CenterPoint Energy (NYSE:) expects to restore service to 1 million affected customers by July 10.
