Investing.com–ChatGPT experienced an outage Wednesday morning as users around the world reported being unable to log into the artificial intelligence tool.
OpenAI acknowledged the outage in a post on social media site X and said it was working to resolve the issue.
“We are currently experiencing a disruption. We have identified the problem and are working on a solution. Sorry and we’ll keep you posted!”, according to OpenAI’s official X account.
Downdetector showed that ChatGPT and OpenAi websites were experiencing potential issues, with a large portion of user reports related to ChatGPT.
The company’s recently released Sora AI model, which allows users to generate video from text prompts, also appeared to be affected by the outage.
Recent data shows that ChatGPT has an average of 123 million daily active users and is one of the most popular generative AI applications.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:)-backed OpenAI had released the tool in late 2022, with the tool gaining over a million users within a day.
ChatGPT’s outage also follows outages on Meta’s Instagram and WhatsApp.
