(Reuters) -The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Coalition of Organized Retail Employees (IAM CORE) reached a preliminary agreement on Friday with tech giant Apple (NASDAQ:) on improving work-life balance, pay increases and employment . security.
Employees at Apple’s Towson, Maryland, store will vote on the tentative agreement on August 6.
The preliminary three-year agreement includes an average wage increase of 10%, restrictions on hired workers and a dismissal clause, improvement of work-life balance and rules on transparency. The deal retains all current benefits and an agreement to negotiate any future additions.
Employees at Apple’s Towson store voted to authorize a strike in May.
In June 2022, Apple workers in Maryland voted to join the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers union, becoming the tech giant’s first retail workers to unionize in the United States.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
