Investing.com – Brazilian stocks were lower after Friday’s close as losses in the , and sectors dragged shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the price fell 1.73%, reaching a new six-month low.
The best performers of the session on the exchange were Embraer SA (BVMF:), which rose 4.04% or 1.49 points to close at 38.40. Meanwhile, Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:) added 2.76% or 0.76 points to end at 28.25 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:) rose 1.09% or 0.12 points to 11.12 in the late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lwsa SA (BVMF:), which fell 8.46% or 0.39 points to trade at 4.22 at the close. Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:) fell 7.56% or 0.96 points to end at 11.74 and MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:) fell 6.02% or 0.44 points to 6.87.
The number of declining stocks outnumbered rising stocks on the B3 Stock Exchange by 547 to 391, with 49 ending unchanged.

August gold futures fell 3.44%, or 82.30, to $2,308.60 per troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for July delivery fell 0.36%, or 0.27, to $75.28 a barrel, while the July U.S. Coffee C contract fell 3.96%, or 9.27, to $224. 93.
USD/BRL rose 1.34% to 5.33, while EUR/BRL rose 0.59% to 5.75.
US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.80% to 104.89.
